LCD Backlight out after liquid spill (A1377)
Spilled tea (no sugar!) on my girlfriends Macbook last night. Took it apart today and cleaned everything with first 70% then 99% isopropanol.
There was very minor corrosion in a few spots, notably the screen connector.
Today managed to get it to boot and backup in time machine (she had no backup!) However the screen is very dim, I needed to use a headlamp to read it and even so it is difficult.
There was one similar thread (Liquid spill results in extremely dim screen, how to fix?) with no conclusion. I understand some macbooks have a fuse for the screen? Is this the case with the A1377 model and where is it?

Attach an image (or two) of your logic board with your question. That way we can see what you see and can possibly point out the fuse.

image added! there is a part similar to the fuses described in other posts, a brown or orange smc with an N on it. It reads 8.3v on both sides though.

chris, what are the last three digits of your serial number? Trying to match up the proper schematic for your computer....

Serial number is c02dxhnhddr1. If the fuse is indeed the part in the image you have attached, it is OK. Do I consider replacing the led driver?

These are the specs according to your serial number. Does that look right ;-)
