The error message “No SIM card detected” is displayed
If the tablet is not detecting the SIM card, you will not be able to access the associated mobile network. This may be a result of faulty software, hardware, or a faulty SIM card
The tablet’s software is malfunctioning
Perform a “soft” reset
To perform a "soft" reset, press and hold the power button for seven to ten seconds until the tablet shuts off. Again, press and hold the power button to turn the device back on. Check to see if the issue is resolved.
Power down and reinsert the SIM card
Press and hold the tablet’s power button, select “Power Off”, and then select “Ok”. Use this guide to remove and reinsert the SIM card.
Restore to factory condition
Resetting the tablet will remove all data and install a new copy of the Android operating system. We strongly recommend backing up the data on your device before following this step. Select "Apps > Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset > Reset Tablet > Erase Everything." The tablet will now restart. Follow the prompts to set up your Google account, and then turn off the device. Remove and reinsert the SIM card with this guide and then power the device on again to see if the SIM card is now being detected.
The SIM card port is damaged or filled with debris
If the “No SIM card detected” message is still displayed, even after reinserting the SIM card, then there may be dust particles lodged within the tablet’s SIM card slot. Make sure the device is powered off, and then remove the SIM card to clean the port using this guide. If the issue is not resolved, then the SIM card may be faulty and it needs to be replaced.
The SIM card is faulty
To test if your SIM card is faulty, remove the SIM card and insert it into a smartphone or another tablet. If the other device detects the SIM card, then the problem lies within the Samsung tablet (see heading above). If the other device does not detect the SIM card, then the card has likely failed and needs to be replaced. Follow this guide to remove and replace the SIM card.
The vibration function is not responding
The tablet is not vibrating when you receive a message or a phone call.
The vibrating option is turned off
It’s possible that the tablet’s vibration function has been turned off. To turn it on, go to settings > sound > vibrate, and choose your desired option for the vibration setting.
The vibrator is not properly connected
If the vibrator is not responding even after it is activated in the settings tab, the vibrator might have lost contact with its pins due to moisture or debris or may need to be replaced. Follow this guide to open the device up and check on the vibrator connections or to replace the vibrator.
The camera is not taking clear photos
You are getting a blurry image while using the camera.
The camera lens is filled with moisture
Sometimes, moisture or humidity may sit atop the camera lens and create blurry or foggy images. Start by cleaning the outside of the camera lens. If this does not fix the issue, we recommend taking apart the device and either replacing the camera or removing it to clean the interior lenses. Use this guide to remove the front-facing camera, and this guide to remove the rear-facing camera.
The touch screen is not responding
The LCD screen is frozen and does not respond to touch
There are too many programs running
Sometimes the Android operating system can become overwhelmed when running too many apps at the same time. If your screen is frozen or is not responding to your touch, we recommend restarting your device You can do so by holding down the power key for a few seconds. Then, hold the Power, Home, and Volume + keys until the Samsung logo appears.
