Short Battery Life
The battery dies more quickly than it did previously.
Battery temperature
If you suspect that the temperature of your battery is getting too high. Eject the battery and move it to a cooler location. Never leave your device or battery in a hot, enclosed space.
If you live in a cold environment, the extreme low temperatures can cause a reduced battery life. The device will be calibrated for warmer temperatures, thus making it necessary to charge your battery more often that you would expect given the battery indicator.
Battery may be Faulty
If the battery life has declined try replacing the battery with this guide.
LCD Screen Is Blank
The screen will not turn on, or it will turn on but remains a blank white.
Lens is Dirty
If the lens displays a white screen when turned on, try running a soft dry cloth over the lens to attempt to wipe of any fingerprints or dirt that might be on the lens.
Auto LCD is off in Economy Mode
To check if this is the problem and turn these settings off press the shutter button halfway.
The LCD screen turns off while the camera is still on
The screen turns off itself while the power of the camera is still on.
Battery Percentage is Low
If the camera is on but the screen is off the battery may be Low, turn the camera off and charge for two hours.
Faulty LCD Screen
If camera was dropped, the LCD may have internal damage and may not display an image. If this is the case the LCD screen may need to be replaced. Replace the LCD screen with our LCD Screen Replacement guide.
Picture is Unclear or Spotty
The picture is fuzzy, unfocused, or has dark spots covering some of the image.
Condensation on Lens (Lens Fogs Up)
Fogging occurs when the humidity changes from low to high, or the temperature changes from cold to warm in a relatively short amount of time. To resolve this issue, attempt to wipe the condensation from the front of the lens with a soft cloth.
However, if the condensation is on the inside of the lens, you will need to power down the camera and wait for the temperature inside the camera to equalise with the outside temperature, typically taking around two hours.
Fingerprints and Dirt on the Lens
Much like condensation, this can be fixed by wiping away the grime using a soft cloth. However, if the dirt is on the inside of the lens, you will need to wipe it away from the inside. Please refer to our guide on how to replace the lens casing in order to see how to properly get to the inside of the lens.
Lens Won’t Move In and Out
The zoom function no longer causes the lens to move in and out properly.
Lens Housing is Faulty
The lens housing may be faulty due to a fall or some other external damage. Replace the Lens housing with our Lens Housing Repair Guide.
Dust or Dirt in the Lens Casing
The most common cause of this problem is dust stuck within the lens casing of the camera. This can be solved by running the pointed end of a plastic spudger or other, similar tool around the grooves of the lense casing.
Another solution to this problem would be coming in from the back of the lens casing and applying compressed air to the cracks to try dislodging the dust. You can refer our guide on how to replace the lens casing in order to see how to properly get behind the lens casing. Unfortunately, we do not have a guide on how to disassemble the lens casing itself, although it is possible using a Phillips #000 Screwdriver .
