The device won't power on
The laptop will not respond or show any sign of powering up.
Faulty Power Adapter
Check to make sure the power adapter is plugged into a functioning electrical outlet. If it is, make sure the light on the adapter is on. If the light is not on and the adapter is plugged in, the adapter is faulty. Consider purchasing a replacement adapter.
Faulty Battery
If the adapter is plugged into the wall and the light on the adapter is on, make sure the adapter is connected to the laptop. If the laptop only powers up when the adapter is plugged in, regardless of charging time, then the battery is probably faulty. You can replace the battery using this guide.
The device becomes hot during use
The laptop begins to overheat during use.
Device On Uneven Surface
Laptops are meant to be kept on hard flat surfaces instead of uneven surfaces such as blankets, pillow, or your lap. Uneven surfaces obstruct the laptop’s airflow causing heat to build up. Simply keep your laptop on a flat surface such as a table where the vent is not obstructed or get a special laptop holder.
Internal Fan Not Working
Common causes for the internal fan not working is that the fan is broken or a buildup of dust is on the fan. A buildup of dust causes the fan to not work as efficiently, or too slow to keep up with the heat that the device is outputting. Dust buildup is easy to fix, you just need to clean off the fan.
Dying Battery Pack
A dying battery pack could be the cause of your overheating problem. If your battery pack is dying this means that it has out lived its life span not that you need to charge your laptop. batteries die over time and you may need to eventually replace it, you can use this guide to do that.
Laptop powers on but shows a black screen
The laptop turns on showing the power light on and the fans are heard running, but nothing appears on the screen.
Broken Screen
The LCD may have suffered some damage and needs to be replaced. You can order a proper replacement piece here: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/mod...
Electrical Hitches
When you last moved your laptop something could have bumped the battery out of place. To fix this just remove the battery; unplug the laptop; hold the power button for 1 to 2 minutes; turn on the laptop with the power plug only; shut it down; add the battery again, and restart the device.
The magnetic Off/On switch detects that the laptop is closed
Every laptop has a switch that tells it when the laptop is opened or closed. The problem could be with this magnetic switch. check to make sure that nothing magnetic is around the edges of the laptop, that could be interfering with the switch. If there is not anything on the outside interfering then you may have to open the shell of the lid of the laptop, to make sure the magnet is not stuck.
The laptop’s battery life is unusually short
The laptop has short lifespan despite being one of its selling features.
Dying Battery Pack
A dying battery pack could be the cause of your overheating problem. If your battery pack is dying this means that it has out lived its life span not that you need to charge your laptop. batteries die over time and you may need to eventually replace it, you can use this guide to do that.
Uncalibrated Battery
You may need to calibrate or recalibrate your battery. To do this you need to charge the laptop up to full battery, then turn off all screensavers and power management settings on the computer. Let the laptop naturally run out of battery and turn off by itself. Plug it back in and charge it back up; it should be able to hold more charge. It's recommended this be done every 2-3 months.
Too Many Programs Open
There could be a lot of software running in the background of the laptop that may be causing the laptop to overheat. open up the windows manager and make sure that there is not excessive applications running. There also may be just one big application running that is just too much for the laptop. Don not leave these kinds of applications open for too long and when you are not using them.

The Novo button is located next to where the power and battery light are you need a paper clip to press it. So it's just like a reset button.
