Volume is turned down or muted

Headphones are plugged in
If headphones or an auxiliary plug is plugged into the phone, the sound will no longer come out of the speakers. It will only come out of the headphones. Simply unplug them from the phone.

My HTC one mini 2 is only 1 year old, not damaged, but some areas of the screen become unresponsive. Firstly I thought that some of my apps have issues or my fingers are dirty etc., but now I can clearly say that the problem is with the phone itself. I am really disappointed with such quality of quite an expensive device.

I have exactly the same issue. I tried resetting the G sensor but this made no difference. Went online and there are lots of us out there!
Worth noting that factory reset is reported as not solving the problem.
What I did find is that installing an app 'Apex launcher' does allow dead parts on the screen to respond again. But it's not a total solution.
This is clearly not a hardware issue though.

I had the same problem and the store replaced the lcd with a new one and the poblem got fixed. but after 6 month again the same problem occured and i am sure it will happen again if i chang the lcd. i think it is a internal hardware problem and the company should be responsible for that
