Computer Does Not Power On
The laptop will not respond or exhibit any sign of powering up.
Faulty Battery
Make sure the battery is fully charged and in the laptop. If the computer doesn't response, hold down the power button down for several seconds. If nothing still happens, you can remove the battery and try running the laptop from AC power. If the laptop responds, replace the faulty battery.
Faulty Power Adapter
Make sure that the power adapter is plugged in correctly. If the power adapter light isn't on, even though it's plugged into the outlet, then the adapter is faulty. Replace the adapter.
Not Charging
The battery is not receiving any power
Unresponsive Outlet
Unplug the charger for several minutes. Then, try using a different outlet.
Damaged Charging Cable
Check the charging cable for any damage. If so, replace the power cord.
Faulty Charging Port
Check charging port for dirt and debris. Clean it out, if any is identified. If there is still no charge, you may have to replace your charging port.
No Display
The laptop has power, but the monitor won't display anything.
Faulty Back Light
Lightly press the ridges of the outer screen to ensure there is not a connection issue with the back light.
System Glitch
If the above section doesn't fix the problem, disconnect all attachments, turn laptop off, remove battery, and hold down power button for 60 seconds. Afterwards, restart the computer and connect an external monitor to assure this is an issue with your laptop's screen. Lastly, try preforming a hard reset
Overheating
Device fan is constantly running and making noise.
Clean Fan
Take apart the laptop yourself or by a professional to clean the fan throughly to get rid of any dust that could be causing it to not function properly.
Replace Fan
If the above solution does not fix the issue, or your laptop is considerably old, it's recommended to replace the fan.
Laptop Freezing
The device is uncooperative.
Restart Laptop
Hold down the power button for the device to turn off, wait a few minutes, and then press the power button again.
Malware Protection
Download antivirus software to remove any malware that could have infected the operating system.
Malware
The device is operating very poorly and exhibits random characteristics such as pop-ups.
Reset Device
Perform system reboot, delete temporary files, enter safe mode and factory reset the laptop
NOTE: This will reset your entire computer, deleting everything on it.
