SD card "err" (error) message

You're about to film the perfect video when you realize your GoPro has an error.

SD card formatted incorrectly

This usually is caused by the card being formatted to a separate device. To begin, delete all files from the micro sd card. The GoPro will reformat it so that it may operate correctly.

Faulty micro SD card

If the camera still displays the “err” after being formatted then the issue may be with the card. The micro sd card may not be compatible with the GoPro. In this case you must begin looking to troubleshoot the micro sd card. Lastly, if the card has been correctly formatted to the GoPro then “DCIM” and “MISC” should be displayed as folders on the micro sd card.

Wireless not connecting to smartphone

Camera needs troubleshooting

If your camera will not connect to your smartphone wirelessly, then you can troubleshoot this by going to the settings menu (picture of a wrench), then to wireless controls (picture of a sun). Then find the “Wi-Fi RC” tab and select “current” or “new connection.” A blue light should turn on or flash to assure you it is connected to WiFi.

GoPro app issues

If you issue is associated with the GoPro app on the smartphone, then it is most likely not yet compatible. On December 14th a release is set that will allow this connection. If this does not solve the problem then follow the above directions and do what the app tells you to do when the camera cannot be found.
