I’m trying to turn the camera on but the screen stays off

Make sure you are moving the on/off switch all the way to “ON” and release. If the switch is not pushed fully to the “ON” position, the camera won’t turn on.

Your camera needs batteries to run. Make sure you have four AA batteries installed at the bottom of the camera.

Your camera will work best with fully charged AA batteries. Make sure the ones inside have power.

Photos do not appear clear or focused

Make sure the lens is free of debris or smudges. If the lens is dirty, remove any large pieces of debris. Then breathe softly on the lens to create a slight fog before wiping the lens with a soft cloth to remove any dust or smudges.

The camera has the ability to self focus for a picture, but this function is not instantaneous. Wait about 1-2 seconds before pressing the shutter button on a desired shot. This will allow the image to focus.

A moving or unstable camera does not allow for clear photos. Hold the camera steady or place the camera on flat stable surface when taking photos. Using a tripod would also be a consistent way to keep the camera steady.

The screen is stuck on one picture and the buttons aren’t working

Try performing a hard reset to fix this. Take the batteries out, replace them, and attempt to turn on camera to cycle the power and reset the camera.

Your camera may still be working with the screen frozen. Try a factory reset:

1. Press the [Menu/OK] button
2. Press the [</ dial left button]
3. Press the [V/ dial down button]
4. Press the [>/ dial right button]
5. Press the[V/ dial down button] 4 times.
6. Press the [>/ dial right button]
7. Press the [V/ dial down button] and press [Menu/OK]

Whenever I look in the viewfinder, nothing is clear.

Try to clean the lens with a microfiber cloth or 100% cotton. Use either rubbing alcohol or deionized water. This will ensure that the lens is not contributing to the dirty viewfinder.

Press the shutter button down halfway to allow the camera to focus and have a clearer picture.

Look for scratches or smudges that might be affecting the viewfinder clarity. If your viewfinder is broken, check our replacement guide to fix it.

I'm trying to take pictures, but they don't seem to be saving.

You need a memory card in your camera for it to be able to save your pictures. Open the bottom door and make sure one is installed.

If you take too many pictures, your memory card will fill up. Delete existing pictures or use a computer to export pictures off of your card.
