Purifier Not Turning On
The purifier does not function when the fan is powered on.
No Power Supply
Ensure the purifier is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the outlet is functioning by plugging in another device. if the fan is not turning on the issue may be that it is not getting any power be sure to make sure that it is plugged into an outlet and that the outlet itself is on and working. Then You can try turning it on, if the problem persists it may be another issue.
Internal Component Failure
If the power supply is functional, an internal component may be faulty. one of the wires on the inside may be unplugged or even broken. One way to fix this is to call Dyson and send it in, but the other way while more difficult would be to open it up and plug in the wire again. This may prove to be difficult. If the wires are not broken or unplugged it may be another issue.
Purifier Not Rotating
The purifier turns on but doesn’t rotate
Obstructed Rotation
Check if there's any obstruction preventing the purifier from rotating. Remove any objects that may be blocking the movement. These objects could be anything leaning up against the fan, something small that got into the fan, or something attached to the fan that is not normally a part of the product.
Rotation Settings
Ensure the oscillation setting is activated. Refer to the user manual to adjust the oscillation settings correctly. If the fan is not rotating it could simply be because that setting is not set correctly. This is an easy fix all you will need to do is use the correct button on the remote to turn it onto your desired setting of oscillation.
Mechanical Failure
If there are no obstructions and the settings are correct, the mechanism responsible for rotation might be faulty. Contact Dyson for repair or replacement options. If you are unable to get support, the issue may be that something has gotten stuck inside. We suggest shaking it for a start as opening it up can be rather difficult. If all else fails you can open up the bottom to remove the obstruction.
Fan Not Blowing Air
No air comes out of the fan when powered on
Blocked Airflow
Check for any blockages in the air inlet and outlet. Clean any dust or debris that might be obstructing airflow. The plastic cage over the filter may be blocked and you may just need to clean it out to allow for airflow through it, or it may be the upper wind tube that you can click off and wash thoroughly to remove any blockages inside it.
Filter Issues
Ensure the filter is correctly installed and is not clogged. Replace the filter if it's old or heavily soiled. If the filter is full and clogged be sure to clean it and let it fully dry and then place it back on this may allow the fan to get air again, or it may not be placed correctly be sure that there is no obstruction on the filter that would be stopping air flow.
Fan Motor Failure
If there are no blockages and the filter is in good condition, the fan motor may be malfunctioning. Contact Dyson for support. If the motor has failed it may be broken and need a full replacement or a wire inside the fan may have been unplugged to fix this be sure to unplug it and be safe while opening it and plugging the wire back in.
Clicking Noise
The fan makes unusual noises when powered on
Loose Components
Inspect the purifier for any loose parts or components. Tighten any loose screws and ensure all parts are properly fitted. Ensure all parts are still on the fan if there is a missing part you may need to find a replacement part to fix your issue.
Obstruction in Fan Blades
Check for any debris or objects caught in the fan blades. Carefully remove any obstructions. The inner tube that directs the air from the fan out to your given space may be clogged by dirt, dust, or some other obstruction. We suggest that you remove that part by unclipping it and washing it out, then make sure it's completely dry before placing it back. This may free up whatever may be falling into the fan's base causing the noise.
Mechanical Wear
If the noise persists, it could indicate wear or damage to internal components. Contact Dyson for repair or replacement options. This is likely your last option if you can't fix a fully broken part in the fan you may need to send it in to get fixed to order a new replacement part to fix it fully.
Remote Not Working
The fan functions normally but the remote does not work
Dead Batteries
If your remote is not working it may be due to the batteries being dead in the remote. To fix this you can take off the detachable back of the remote and take the old batteries out and replace them with new batteries, then try the remote again. If problems persist it may not be the batteries.
Remote Sensor Obstruction
Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the purifier. Remove any objects that may be blocking the sensor. Sometimes the sensor can be dirty or just have something sitting in the way which can obstruct its function. To fix this all you will need to do is clean the sensors or remove anything obstructing the sensors' path.
Remote or Sensor Malfunction
If the problem persists with new batteries and no obstructions, there may be an issue with the remote or the purifier's sensor. Test with another remote if available, or contact Dyson for assistance.
Airspeed Not Changing
The fan turns on and blows air but the speed does not change
Sensor Issues
If the airspeed doesn’t change despite adjusting the settings, the internal sensors may be malfunctioning. This could be due to a software glitch or hardware problem, a way to fix this could be to try cleaning off the sensor on both the remote and the the fan. If problems persist you may need to contact Dyson Support.
Hardware Malfunction
In case of suspected hardware issues, refrain from opening the unit yourself. Contact Dyson for professional support. This product is difficult to take apart and even harder to put back together we suggest not pulling it apart as it is likely to break further.
