Drone is moving erratically and/or bumping into objects in open spaces

Drone is jumping around in an open area or not responding at all to foreign objects

Sensor of GPS may be obstructed

If your drone seems to “jump”, or does not respond at all to outer interference, the sensor may be partially covered. This can commonly occur if you have previously landed the drone in muddy or wet areas. Also be sure to check the inside of the case and see if there is any other form of residue.

GPS may need new firmware update

In order for the drone to work at its absolute best, the internal systems must be kept up to date. If you are experiencing similar issues even after trying to fly it at different locations, connect the drone to a computer by its USB and check for updates.

Internal GPS may be malfunctioning

The GPS may simply be broken. In this case, the internal GPS will need to be replaced.

Drone is becoming too hot during operation or flight

Drone is not working or the performance is minimized by the drone overheating

Air vents may be obstructed by dust or other debris

Check the air vents located on the top of the drone and ensure that there is nothing lodged in them or blocking them. If needed, a canister of compressed air can be used to clear the air vents.

An external object (grass, plastic, dust, etc) is caught in the internal fan

The drone can be partially disassembled so that the external object can be removed from the fan.

Internal fan may be broken and needs to be replaced

If the internal fan is not turning on at all and cannot be heard operating, it is likely broken and needs to be replaced.

Drone camera not taking pictures or videos

Drone is not capturing videos or pictures when directed to

The memory of the device or drone may be full

In order for there to be enough storage for photos and videos, storage can be freed up on the device being used or an SD card can be purchased for the drone.

The cables going to the gimbal or camera may have been damaged

The drone can be taken apart to determine if the wires of the camera or gimbal have been damaged severely enough so that it cannot take pictures.

If pictures or videos are not showing up on the SD card or connected device, the SD card may need to be formatted

The SD card can be formatted in the Camera settings on the DJI Go app.

The mobile device arms are not able to physically connect the mobile device to the controller

The arms on the controller that hold the mobile device are not holding device sturdily

The rubber on the inside of the mobile device grip arms has been eroded over a period of use

While the rubber teeth of the mobile device grip is a very convenient feature, however they may be prone to wear and tear from constant use. If one or several of the teeth are withered, it can impact how the rest of your mobile device is supported.

One or both of the mobile device grip are loose

The rubber teeth are both attached to respective hand/palm grips. Since these are foldable parts, they may become loose and will need tightening.

The rubber has gotten dirty or dusty and the device slips out of the mobile device grips

Over use, the controller may have come into contact with dust or dirt and therefore making the rubber parts of the mobile device grips unusable. In this case, it would be best to replace one or both of the mobile device grip arms.

Missing or damaged propeller/ blade of drone

Drone is not able to take flight

The material of the blade has been worn out over a period of use

Check the blades for any wear or tear or breakage, a slight cut on the blade will prevent it from flying well.

The number of blades on the drone is incomplete

Drone blades might not have been attached completely, or might have come off after a crash. check to see if all of the blades are attached onto the drone.

The blade on the drone is too stiff to spin

Check to see if something is obstructing or lodged into the motor of the blade.
