After pressing the on/off button, the camera fails to turn on.

The problem could be the battery. Remove the battery and make sure it is fully charged. Additionally, make sure the battery and the battery compartment is free of dirt and grime. Ensure that the battery compartment is securely closed and press the power button again.

After pressing the shutter button, photos are not being taken.

Make sure that the camera is not in video or playback mode. Turn the mode dial to the green Auto icon and fully press the shutter button. A shutter sound should play and your image should appear.

If the SD card’s memory is full, the camera will no longer be able to capture photos. Using the software and the interface cable included with your camera, transfer the pictures from your camera to your computer and then delete the pictures off of your device. You will then be able to capture more photos.

After pressing the shutter button, the photo captured is darker or lighter than it appears.

If the photo is too dark, flash is needed to make the picture lighter. Lift the flash panel located on the top right side of the camera. When you capture the photo the flash will shine and the photo will appear lighter. If the photo is too light, the flash needs to be turned off. Lower the flash panel manually by pushing it down. Then capture the photo. The flash will not shine and the photo will be darker.

The screen brightness on the camera could be either too low or too high. To adjust the brightness, press the MENU button located on the bottom right of the camera. Choose the “LCD Brightness” option on the submenu. Using the textured dial, adjust the brightness of the camera.

After pressing the shutter button, the photo captured is blurry.

If photos appear blurry, the camera may need to be focused. To focus the device, press the shutter button halfway. The camera will then beep twice and the photo should now be clear when captured.

The camera lens may be dirty or dusty. Use a soft cloth to clean the lens then try to capture your photo again.

After pressing the shutter button, the photo captured is far away.

If the object trying to be captured is far away, the camera will need to zoom in closer to the object. To zoom in, press the MENU button on the bottom right of the camera. Choose the “Digital Zoom” option on the submenu. Using the textured dial, adjust the magnification. Press the MENU button again and the view should be zoomed in on the object.
