Poor Screen Touch Response

The device is not responding to touch or has a sluggish response.

Debris on Screen Blocking Touch Input

Using a damp microfiber cloth, wipe the screen to remove any dirt or debris that may be preventing the device from registering touch properly.

Software Needs Resetting

Turn off the device by holding down the power button for 3 seconds, then selecting the “Power Off” option on the display. Wait 30 seconds, then turn the device on by holding down the power button until the device turns on. This procedure resets various software operations that may be preventing the touch screen from functioning properly.

Faulty Touch Digitizer

Use a stylus to rule out problems with the device’s touch sensitive components. If the stylus works, but touch does not register without the stylus, wash your hands and clean the device’s screen. If the stylus does not work either, there is likely a problem with the phone’s digitizer.

Non-Responsive Volume Control Buttons

Volume control buttons are behaving irregularly.

Software Needs Resetting

Turn the device off by holding down the power button for 3 seconds, then selecting the “Power Off” option on the display. Wait 30 seconds, then turn the device on by holding down the power button until the device turns on. This procedure may reset various software operations that prevent the volume control buttons from functioning properly.

External Damage to Button Mechanism

Press the volume control buttons to ensure that they return to their original position. If the buttons cannot be manipulated normally, there is likely some debris caught in the button mechanism. Carefully remove the debris with a toothpick.

Case/Cover Blocking Buttons

If applicable, remove the phone’s protective cover or case and attempt to use the volume control buttons. If the buttons now function properly, then the phone’s protective cover or case may have not been fitted correctly.

Internal Damage to Button Mechanism

If applicable, remove any external cover or case from the device. Press the volume control buttons to check if they are firm and are providing regular feedback. Phone not Charging

The phone will not charge when plugged in.

Debris in Charging Port

Use a light source to inspect for the inside of the charging port to check for any debris that may have become stuck. Carefully use a toothpick to remove the debris without damaging any of the delicate internal wiring.

Malfunctioning Charging Cable

The charging cable may be damaged. Attempt to charge the device using a different device-approved charging cable.

Damaged Wall Adapter

The charging adapter may be damaged. Try charging the device using a different device-approved charging adapter.

Damaged Device Charging Port

Distorted Audio Output From Speaker

The Audio sounds distorted or garbled.

Volume is too Low or too High

The volume may be set too low or too high, affecting the sound output. Try adjusting the volume and see if this solves the sound quality issue.

Debris in the Speaker

Use a light source and inspect the speaker holes for debris. If the holes are clogged, use a small thin object, such as a needle or paperclip, to remove the debris. Be careful not to damage the speaker by inserting the cleaning utensil too far into the speaker holes.

External Case Blocking the Speaker

If there is an external case on the device, check to determine if the case is blocking the speaker output. This could result in distorted audio. Remove the external case completely to determine if audio quality improves.

Damaged Speaker

Camera Not Functioning

Pictures and videos are blurry or distorted.

Dirty or Smudged Lens

Remove any debris that may have built up on the camera lens by wiping the lens with a clean microfiber cloth.

Improper Camera Settings

When using a camera app, check the camera settings and make sure they are set correctly for your application. Incorrect settings may affect the camera’s performance which may result in poor images or video.

Damaged or Scratched Camera

Lens scratches and other physical damage will affect the camera’s ability to take clear pictures. Wi-Fi Enabled but not Connected

Unable to connect to networks while Wi-Fi is connected.

Not Connected to a Network

If the device is too far away from the Wi-Fi source, the device may be unable to receive a signal. Move closer to the Wi-Fi source. Additionally, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Networks and ensure that the device is connected to a network. The device can connect to unsecure networks at any time, but secure networks require a password before a connection is permitted.

Out of Date Software

Ensure that the device’s operating system software is current. Go to > Setting > Device > Software > Update. Update the software, if required. Outdated software can cause software/hardware communication issues.
