The Device Overheats With Buzzing Sound
The laptop is hot to the touch and the fans are loud.
The Fan Has Dirt Or Dust
A common sign of dust accumulation in the fan occurs when the laptop is constantly running and releasing a loud humming sound. Open the bottom case of the computer by removing 11 screws using the TORXT6 screwdriver. Then lightly dust off the fan with compressed air.
Faulty Fan
If the fan has been properly cleaned and is still warm and continues to make a humming sound, the fan is defective and needs replacement. Replace the fan using this guide.
Battery Life Diminishes Quickly
The battery life does not last for long periods of time.
Faulty Charging Cord
Assure the charger is plugged into the wall and lightning port and the charge light is on. If the light does not light up, the charger is faulty and replacement is recommended.
Faulty Battery
If the adapter is plugged in and the adapter light is on, plug it into the laptop. If the laptop can not stay on without the adapter in at all times, that indicates the battery is faulty. Replace the battery using this guide.
Lagging Cursor
The cursor does not keep up with the movement of the touchpad.
The System Needs A Reboot
If the cursor is lagging behind the physical movement of the touchpad, try holding down the power button to shut it off to restart the systems on the computer.
Outdated Touchpad Settings
Turn on and off the touchpad by pressing the “FN” and “F7” keys. If that does not work, try going into the settings to adjust the sensitivity. Click Start Menu > Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
Faulty Touchpad
If lagging continues after the restart, the touchpad is desensitized. Try replacing it following this guide.
The Screen Does Not Turn On
The screen is unresponsive.
Software Overload
Restart the computer or try plugging it into an external monitor using a USB-C to HDMI cable. If a screen shows up on an external monitor it proves that it is the screen that is faulty.
Cracked Screen
The screen has received extensive damage with cracks in the screen. It would be best to buy and replace the screen using this guide.
Distorted Audio Output
The audio is not clear and sounds distorted.
Audio Settings Aren't Set Correctly
Adjust Audio Settings by:
- Pressing the “Windows Key” and “X” simultaneously on the keyboard.
- Select “Device Manager.”
- Select “Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.”
- Right-click and select "Uninstall" for all items.
- Restart the computer.
Faulty Speakers
Your speakers may be faulty and need replacement if the audio distortion is consistent. Replace the speakers by following this guide.

oh my god thank you so much my audio settings have been set incorrectly since i got this laptop and now it finally works i can join a tf2 server without the administrator’s voice becoming washed out immediately
