Is the hard drive accessible for replacement from the bottom? I see black stuff over the drive with the WIFI cables going underneath. Is that removable so one can access the drive from the bottom, or is it accessible from under the keyboard?
What about the front case so I can replace the flash board on top?
It would be nice to have a guide for replacing the flash capacitor.
Don't forget to push in the anti drainback valve from the holes on the outer perimeter because there will still be oil trapped in there. Use a toothpick or something to open up each hole while holding the filter upside down to get more oil out of the filter.
@burke102, wait for Intel Skymont 10nm. That's when we'll see 10nm chips and probably 4-core Macbook Air and 6 cores with regular sized laptops.
Single threaded performance will be improved too
Better to repaste with MX2 rather than MX4. Longevity is important here since the difficulty of taking the laptop apart is high. MX2 is rated for 8 years of durability.
