If the screen is completely blank as a black color (from what it seems like), it is very likely you have a damaged panel or ribbon cable on the LCD. If it's not those, your motherboard may be faulty (considering these GBAs are about 20 years old) so you either might want to look into replacing the LCD (especially if you want to install an IPS mod kit for a backlit, clear picture) or to replace the motherboard or console if the problem persists.
Sorry for the necro, but for those wondering, it's not. However, it is recommended you have the access panel so the computer will sit on a table properly (even if you have the tilt and swivel stand).
Usually with a new design, laptops change the pinout or layout of the battery so it is unlikely that a kit for an earlier laptop will work on a newer one. You could open up the laptop to find the battery's part number and search it up online on a site like eBay. Be sure you get a genuine replacement; generic ones have a tendency to screw up your computer.
I was following this guide normally but then I saw the last step... are you f***ing kidding me?! You DO NOT PRY OFF that chip!! It's a BGA connection and you WILL destroy it. If you need your CPU or GPU replaced, either buy a new motherboard or seek a professional's service that replaces chips like that. But yikes, an iFixit guide that's pretty coherent yet the last step implies removing the chip and damaging it... I must be hallucinating. If anyone did mindlessly follow this guide without prior experience... you have my deepest condolences.
