Yes, normally ALT is a good suggestion without a Mac keyboard, as Windows keyboard ALT works the same as a Mac keyboard's Option key for me if I am using my Windows keyboard plugged into my G4 Mac but I think G3 computers don't support Option at power-on time. Even with Apple keyboards (I tried USB and ADB keyboards from Apple) I cannot get Option to work on my G3.

I measured the screws on my 4-switch Woody and Vader. The short answer is you need four screws of size #6-20 (aka #6) in length of 5/8”. Details below… Quantity 2 #6-20, ¾” length screws are at front. Quantity 2 #6-20, ⅝” length screws are angled at rear. They are installed at an angle, parallel with the silver switches. I think you could use ⅝” long screws for all four locations but factory used longer ones up front. Turn on the console without a disc inside.

If you get the date/time set screen, press the right direction until you have highlighted the bottom-right symbol then press A.

In the main system menu, select the icon that looks like a box with up-down arrow inside.

Next screen, choose bottom-right option.

In the next menu, select the item in the center (it’s the 2nd option)

Pick English (is not kanji) then select Exit.
