Resposta para "What speaker is needed to replace the ones inside? Mini Lifejacket 3"Hey Russell. I’m not sure if I can find an identical speaker to the one in the lifejacket, but I wonder one with the same measurements would be a suitable replacement. You’ll have to measure the speaker yourself (as I don’t own one), but this one is 40mm diameter, 20mm height, which seems in the ballpark. As far as the wires go, I would try to resolder the original ones rather than find a replacement for them given that white plastic harness they’re attached to.

Hi Russell. Thanks for the feedback. When our group published this guide the entire teardown was included, but it looks like a member of the iFixit team removed the initial steps for some reason. I’ve added our back panel replacement guide as a prerequisite instead. As for the speaker part number, yeah I agree, including a specific part number would be helpful. Unfortunately I don’t possess this device so I can’t find a speaker with the same measurements myself, but if you happen to find a speaker that fits the bill you should edit the guide for posterity. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The charging port and the aux input are mounted to a circuit board enclosed within a small compartment on the back panel. We didn’t open the compartment in this guide because it requires breaking the seal of the compartment’s gasket, which would be unreasonable to replace. We figured it would be easier to replace the whole back panel instead. My advice for finding a new charging port would be to scour eBay or a similar site for a broken Mini Lifejacket and use its entire back panel as the replacement.
