Hi Larry, I've been looking for ages for a battery that will adequately replace the one in the JBL Charge! After some research, I discovered the battery model is AEC982999-2P, which is a 3.7V 6000mAh battery. A quick Google search did not return a replacement that is the same size as the JBL Charge's. I know it's not a very common site to use in the US, but Alibaba.com is a good place to look! Hope this helps! Thanks Joe
Hi Olivier, I personally wouldn't do that on my device, as JBL probably picked their fabric to ensure dust protection along with quality sound. On the other hand, depending on the environment it is used in, removing the covers shouldn't necessarily ruin the device. I say go for it!
I'd be interested to know what your results were, if you decided to remove the fabric?
Hi All, I suggest looking to eBay for broken JBL Charge's to source parts from.

Hi Delton, that is a good question. The entire cover has to be replaced if one is replacing the aux/USB ports.
You can ignore that note in this battery replacement guide. Good catch!
Por favor, disculpe mis errores:
"No puedo encontrar un nuevo reemplazo. Compra uno roto. Utilice el botón de la que se rompe."
The purpose of a guide is to show how to fix the device, not obtain parts. I suggest eBay.
The point is to guide people on the replacement of parts, not obtaining parts. I suggest eBay.
