Meu Problema
When my ps3 got the YLOD, I was devastated. I knew I could send it back in to Sony, but that would mean I would lose ALL my data from the past 5 years of gaming. I refused to just lose hundreds of hours of gaming. I knew in order to get my ps3 fixed AND retain all my data, I would have to perform surgery on the system myself. I just could never find a reliable way to fix the system. After awhile I put the issue on the backburner, until I happened across this guide on iFixit. After watching the instructional video and reading all of the reviews, I was convinced I was ready to try the procedure.

The guide provided by iFixit and the kit I purchased were extremely helpful. It took longer than an hour, probably an hour and a half or two hours, but I experienced very little deviation from the guide to my 80 gig ps3. I didn't end up with any extra leftover screws when I was finished, so I was confident I followed all the directions accurately. After the ps3 was reassembled, I attempted to boot it up and it came back to life after a 1.5 year hiatus! After about 3 hrs, the system is still running strong.

I didn't experience any major issues during the process. The one big difference was once I got the ps3 running, the fan sounded like a leaf blower. But there wont be any complaints here. The fan is belting out more air than it ever has and I have no worries about the system getting too hot.
