  • With a ruler, measure the amount you want the dress shortened.

  • After deciding, subtract 1" (25.4mm) from the seam allowance

  • (Ex: You want 3" (76.2mm) off, so you would measure 2'' (50.8mm) from the bottom of the fabric.)
