Before replacing the speaker ring, consult the troubleshooting page to resolve any other possible issues that could be causing the volume to not work.

    • Place the speaker so that the speaker volume ring faces up.

    • Using the halberd spudger, pop off the metal disc that is connected to the speaker ring.

    • Remove the metal disc.

    • Ignore the small circuit board that is under the metal disc. It is not important for this replacement.

    • Remove the four 5mm screws that connect the inner bearing to the outer ring using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

    • Take the outer ring and inner bearing off of the speaker.

    • Remove the outer ring from the inner bearing and plastic disc.

    • Remove the inner bearing from the plastic disc so that all three components of the speaker ring are separated.
