If your Moto Z2 Play is having audio problems with the music player, the ringer, game audio, or voice calls, the speaker of your Moto Z2 Play may be broken. The speaker is a small-rectangular-black box located at top-middle of the device. This guide details how to replace the speaker in your Moto Z2 Play. To replace the speaker, you need the following tools: a heat gun (or a hair dryer), a plastic opening tool, a suction cup, a plastic card, a tweezer, a sim card ejection tool, and a T3 torx screwdriver.

Remove the sim card housing by pressing firmly in the hole on the top left of the phone using the sim card remover. The  sim card housing will pop out. Remove the protruding sim card housing by pulling it straight out.

Identify ribbon connector at the top right of the phone. Pry the black locking bar up gently with a plastic opening tool. Remove the ribbon wires by pulling them out of the connector with a tweezer.

Lift  the black tape and slide a card under the battery. Align the card parallel and under the battery. Wedge the card further under the battery.
