IBM ThinkPad t43 RAM Replacement

    • To remove the cover, you will need to take out the single screw.

    • Unscrew until the cover comes off

    • Lift the cover from the edge and pull off

    • If the cover doesn't come right up and you have felt that you have unscrewed it, you can lift the cover and the screw will come off with it.

    • Place your hands on the clips and push on them outward until the RAM pops out

    • Place hands on the RAM and pull towards yourself

    • For replacement, follow these steps in reverse order

    • Make sure that when you put in the ram that the short side is on the right

There are two (2) SODIM slots on the T43 - this shows the easiest slot to access. There is a second SODIM slot underneath the keyboard. You will need to remove the palm rest and keyboard to access the second SODIM slot. This is the SODIM slot that comes populated with the 512MB SODIM.

Note you can add a 2GB SODIM in one slot with the 512MB SODIM in the other for a maximum of 2.5GB.
