Ridgid R8442

Ridgid R8442 is a reciprocating saw manufactured by Ridge Tool Company, released on 2013. A reciprocating saw –also known as sawzall, hognose, recip saw, or sawsaw– is a power tool that uses a push-and-pull (back-and-forth) blade motion to cut materials such as wood, metal, or plastic. It was first produced in the United States in 1951 by Milwaukee Electric Tool, and it is commonly used for construction and demolition work, but it can also be used for gardening and pruning of plants.

Ridge Tool Company is an American manufacturing company founded in Ohio, in 1923, that specializes in tools manufacturing and distribution under the brand name Ridgid. Up to this date, the company has manufactured over 300 different types of tools, which range from plumbing tools to construction tools. The Ridgid R8442 is one of the Ridge Tool Company's 18v cordless tools, which are characterized for being powered by 18V lithium batteries that are interchangeable between every other of their 18v tools.

The Ridgid R8442 is a cordless 18-volt reciprocating saw designed for handheld use.
