The Mac Pro is workstation computer manufactured by Apple Inc. The Mac Pro, in most configurations, is the fastest computer that Apple offer and is one of four desktop computers in the current Mac lineup, the other three being the iMac, Mac Studio, and Mac Mini.

It was first released in 2006, replacing the PowerMac G5 series of computers.

The first Mac Pro was based on dual Dual-core Xeon Woodcrest processors. This was replaced by a dual Quad-core Xeon Clovertown model on April 4, 2007, and again on January 8, 2008 by a dual Quad-core Xeon Harpertown model

The Mac Pro 2013 features a totally revamped design with a polished black aluminum cylinder built around a central thermal dissipation core.

The 2019 Mac Pro is a high-performance desktop computer designed by Apple, aimed at professional users who require extreme processing power and expandability. Featuring a modular design, it includes up to a 28-core Intel Xeon processor, up to 1.5TB of memory, and supports multiple high-end graphics cards. The 2023 Mac Pro refresh builds on the original design, offering Apple's custom M2 Ultra chip, significantly boosting performance with up to 24 CPU cores and 76 GPU cores, making it ideal for demanding workflows. It maintains its modularity, allowing users to customize memory (up to 192GB), storage, and expansion options via PCIe slots, while also offering 8TB of SSD storage for enhanced speed and capacity. The design remains similar to its predecessor, with a sleek aluminum tower and optimized airflow for maximum cooling efficiency. The 2023 Mac Pro delivers powerful processing for professional users in fields like video editing, 3D rendering, and many more. One common complaint is that it loses out on the expandability the 2019 had with its soldered SOC, non upgradable RAM, and does not support any PCIe graphics cards.

The Mac Pro resembles a traditional desktop computer and has the Apple logo slapped on the side. The 2019 and 2023 models ditched the cylinder design and vaguely resemble the Mac Pros from 2006-2012. The housing of the 2019 and 2023 models can be removed by using the hatch on top of the case.
