Background and Identification
The EDCO Single-Disk grinder is a surface preparation machine that is designed to be pushed by the user along the surface. It is manufactured by an American tool rental company called Equipment Development Company (EDCO for short). This machine is intended to be used for leveling and smoothing rough surfaces, removing unwanted materials such as paint or resin, and for grinding concrete. The product page states that it is best used for residential applications, and areas that are less than 1500 square feet large.
This machine is equipped to handle high levels of stress as opposed to a grinder intended for lower-friction floor surfaces such as marble or granite. It uses an abrasive disk to smooth the concrete surface. This produces dust, which needs to be contained or vacuumed up to protect the user.
This version of the machine has an adjustable rear wheel, as opposed to the fixed rear wheel model. This machine can be identified by the single disk at the front of the machine, as well as the long handle at the back for the user to push the machine with. It has the EDCO logo at the front, above the abrasive disk, and the Magna-Trap logo on the motor mount (the square tan or gray panel on top of the machine).
