The Contour ROAM3 is a sleek, barrel-shaped action camera engineered for low-profile helmet and vehicle mounting. Known for its durable aluminum chassis and streamlined design, it sits much closer to surfaces than blockier competitors like GoPro. The standout feature of this camera is its ease of use: it utilizes a large, lockable sliding switch on top that powers the device on and starts recording simultaneously, making it operable even while wearing thick gloves.
The camera features a unique 270-degree rotating lens combined with a built-in horizontal alignment laser. This allows users to mount the camera sideways or upside down on a helmet or bike frame and mechanically spin the lens to correct the horizon line effortlessly. Unlike its predecessors, the ROAM3 is natively waterproof down to 30 feet (10 meters) without requiring an external housing.
