Background
The RESmart CPAP is a CPAP system from the 3B and BMC companies. It was FDA approved and released into the market in 2012. It has been discontinued by the BMC company and is rare to find, but it can still be found through many CPAP retailers.
The RESmart CPAP is sold by medical prescription to treat adults with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. This device is intended for one user and should not be shared.
The RESmart CPAP offers many useful features. It includes a display screen for adjusting settings, viewing operating time, and assessing system data. Its embedded memory system stores sleep data for the user. The device is equipped with a handle for easy transport, filter caps, and filters to reduce noise, dust, and pollen, and an optional integrated heated humidifier.
The RESmart CPAP comes with a power cord, carrying case with shoulder strap, user manual, provider instructions, extra filter, and SD card. The CPAP mask, 22mm CPAP tubing, humidifier plug, and bacterial filters are not included with the purchase of the machine. An optional integrated heated humidifier can be purchased and attached to any RESmart CPAP model.
Users of the RESmart CPAP have a wide range of views on its use. Users have complained of the lack of water resistance for the device. Water can easily damage the internal circuits of the RESmart CPAP if it gets on or inside the device. Users have also complained about the weight and bulkiness of the RESmart CPAP device when compared to other lighter brands and models. Users have praised the device for its durability. It is not recommended to drop or damage the RESmart CPAP, but it has been reported to withstand light damage by some users.
The newest model, the RESmart GII CPAP System (E-20C-H-O), is the latest CPAP model that replaced the RESmart CPAP.
RESmart CPAP is sold at varying prices. It can be found for a few hundred dollars and can also be found for a thousand or more dollars.
Identification
The RESmart CPAP is shaped like a small curved box with rounded edges. The device is exactly 8.66 × 7.6 × 4.4” (220 x 194 x 112mm), and Weight: 3.5 lbs. (1.6 kg). The control panel and handle are located on top of the device. The optional heated humidifier attaching port is located on the side below the control panel. The filter and SD port are located on the side above the control panel. The product number, serial number, bar code, model type, and year it was manufactured can be found on a white sticker on the bottom of the device.
The optional heated humidifier changes the look of the RESmart CPAP. The dimensions with the heated humidifier are 12.3 × 7.6 × 4.4” (313 x 194 x 112mm) and 5.3 lbs (2.4 kg). The integrated heated humidifier is made up of two parts, the base and the water compartment. The base is a box with a heated grey plate coming out of the bottom. The water compartment is a small clear box that connects on top of the heated plate. The base connects to the main RESmart CPAP body.
The RESmart CPAP comes in two models, the RESmart CPAP and Auto-CPAP. The RESmart CPAP has a white outer shell and maintains a constant air pressure. The Auto-CPAP has a black outer shell and automatically adjusts pressure in a chosen range. The two models, besides color and specification, are structurally the same.
