The Anova Precision Cooker with Bluetooth and WiFi is a device designed to use sous vide (pronounced “sue-veed”) to cook food to precise temperatures. Sous vide is a cooking technique that means “under vacuum” in French, referring to the process of vacuum-sealing food in a bag, then cooking it to a precise temperature using a water bath. The Anova Precision Cooker is designed to circulate heated water in a pot to cook food to precise temperatures.

To use the Anova Precision Cooker, use the clamp on the device to attach it to a pot of any size filled with water. Add the desired food to a sealed bag and submerge the bag in the water, clipping the bag to the side of the pot. Users can set the time and temperature in the Anova app or with the manual interface on the top face of the Precision Cooker. This process is mainly designed for cooking proteins like steaks and chicken, so Anova recommends searing the protein in a cast-iron pan or on a grill for a crisp exterior which cannot be achieved through the sous vide technique.

The Anova Precision Cooker with Bluetooth and WiFi can connect to the Internet so users can control the device from their phone without being in the same room. The Precision Cooker has a flow rate of eight liters per minute and is IPX7 water- and splash-resistant. It is made of plastic and stainless steel and includes a removable skirt to protect the device. The Anova Precision Cooker includes the name “Anova” printed in capital letters at the top of the device’s face.
