Heard a poof sound while driving. Then everything siezed up like a system shutdown, but all electronics were still fully operational. As I turned switch over, car just hesitates but won't fully start. Replaced the fuel pump. Could it be the cam or crankshaft sensors?

Hi , check your main relay switch in fuse panel under the hood, mine had corrosion built up from moisture over the years and had poor contact and would turn over but not fire up. I had to run 4 wires out bottom of fuse box and clipped a new relay and fired up like normal. Im assuming you have checked for spark and good clean gas is in tank? Also check your spark plugs out make sure they are evenly coloured and gapped . Good luck , it’s not a hard job to replace the relay also check fuse box inside the car .

@chosey tehre are 100's of reasons why this is happening and what may have haaperend. Since we can't see not hear what your Lexus is doing, we depend on you to de as descriptive as possible. statements like this "As I turned switch over, car just hesitates but won't fully start" need to be clarified. What hesitates? Is it just not turning over fast enough? Or it tries to start but does not run right and dies out again? What have you already checked?
