@valeriemanuel "How do I get the cable to go back" I do not see that this drain cleaner has an auto retracting electrical cable. Is it correct that you are referring to the auger cable (the one that enters the drain :-)? If it is the auger cable then "retrieve the cable from the line by depressing the retrieve feed lever. The ON/OFF/REV switch should be in the ON position – do not retrieve the cable with the ON/OFF/REV in the REV position, this can damage the cable" To check and/or replace the cable, check page 5 of the Ridgid Drain Cleaner K 30 manual. Now, if you have no power to your machine, you can't retrieve the cable. We will need to check more things for the no power issue. Do you have any further details on that or did it just quit working on you?

The two are probably connected. At a guess I would imagine that someone has yanked on that power cable, which has broken it's electrical connection, which might explain the loss of power. That same yank has derailed the spring return mechanism, preventing the cable from auto-retracting. Now; assuming this is correct, and assuming you have beginner level technical knowledge, this repair is sadly beyond you; I say this with respect to you, and the safety of the device and the people who will use the device. Despite this criticism...

The power cable auto retraction assembly needs to be completely removed and inspected for damage. Depending on things, this removal could possibly be irreversible, this is due to anticipated damage, the nuisance of spring loaded assemblies, and a novice approach. If you do decide to go through this route of disassembly in order to properly diagnose the source of the fault, you will need to document everything you have done and post images here for further assistance.

However, my recommendation is to seek local help from competent technicians.
