Nintendo's upgraded version of the Nintendo 3DS. It features bigger screens, longer battery life, better pixel density, and a better design.

Crack on midframe where the hinge is located (internet led)

my question about the current situation is: what should i do?

  • take it to a repair shop (costs 100€ from what one of the repair shops told me)
  • try to repair it myself (not that experient + shaky hands)
  • buy a case (and what would be best cost/benefit for the situation)
  • leave it as is

i dont know for how long the crack has been there. i believe it to be for a while now but i only found out about its dangers this week.

i am a college student, so using up 100€ from savings is a huge toll on me, but im also aware of the 3ds prices so like not that expensive

thank you guys so much for your help!

for context: i have ocd and idk if im focusing too much on the problem or if the anxiety is more than valid

Hi!

I would just leave it like how it is. If it's likely that you will drop it, then buy a case so that it at least won't get worse for now.

This repair is NOT easy, so if you want to repair it, I would go to a local repair shop and ask them.

But as long as everything works and if the 3DS is closing and opening as normal, I would just leave it like this.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

@dan0 the only thing ive noticed is that when i open the 3ds the clicking sound is really loud. otherwise, everything else is fine. since i usually only play at home i think its gonna be fine then, but i might just buy a case and look around for a cheaper repair shop. thank you a lot!

Ah then I would it like that. It’s fine! If it get worse or completely breaks, I would ask a repair shop :)!

Ah sorry, I meant, I would leave it like how it is now!

Hmm, I advise not to put super glue there, just leave it how it is :)! It should be fine!
