HDD to SDD Conversion Possible?
I have an Early 2008 MacBook Pro (pre-unibody) and I was wondering if it is possible to do a SSD conversion.
What drive would I have to buy?
Any other accessories to make it work?
Thanks!

You should have no problems going to an SSD drive. I would get one that has jumpers to slow it down just in case. To get you to the correct guide for replacing it please give us the last three figures of your serial number. You can also replace the optical drive with an adapter and add the drive there.

The last three figures are 1XR.
Have you been able to locate a correct guide for me to use?

I agree with Dan about not upgrading the MacBook because of its age, however , if you still want to upgrade you can buy any one of these hard drives to use:
120 GB

240 GB

480 GB

You can also add a hard drive to your optical bay as a boot and application drive and keep you old hard drive installed for media which would give you a huge speed boost and allow you to store more than just an SSD would allow:

Hope this helps.

While I love SSD technology, I wouldn't upgrade such an old MacBook Pro due to the limits of the older Mac OS-X you'll need to use on it.
I thought you had a PPC version Vs Intel - Sorry ;-{
As long as you have Snow Leopard or better you should be fine.

What do you mean by older Mac OS-X? I am currently using Lion (10.7.4) on my machine.
