My ipad is not turning even when it is being charged.

Hello

So my iPad was stepped on, fell off a table, and broke its screen.Initially, we thought there was no problem other than the screen cracked, but then a few months later, it would shut down completely when it was not being used for even 2 min, so to keep it alive, we would keep it on charge. Now, it has completely died and is showing no signs of life.

Now i would like to perform a repair myself but idk which part i should replace.I think that i have to replace either the battery or the logic board.

Any thoughts?
