I have an Old ASUS X401A and the lower plastic case is badly damaged, I can buy a shell only from a X441 model on the used market, wondering if the lower cases are interchangeable before I grab it?

Based on the fact that the lower case assembly have different manufacturer's part numbers I don't think that they are interchangeable..
What is the full model number of the X441 laptop that you're looking at?
Looking at the part numbers for the lower case assembly they are different for the X401A-1A and the X441 models, which are even different between each variant.
Presumably there must be some difference otherwise you would think that they would have the same part number.
Here are just a few examples to show what I mean
X401A-1A p/n = 13GN3O1AP010-2
X441BA p/n = 90NB0I01-R7D010
X441MA-1A p/n = 90NB0H41-R7D010
X441MA-3G p/n = 90NB0H43-R7D010

@jayeff I haven't actually gotten the A441 Yet, pity the lower cases are different, but anyway it is only around $10 for it (Everything but the board HDD and trackpad) and I do need some of the screws which are highly likely going to fit where the missing ones are....
