My brother has two of these phones, both broken in different ways. One has shattered rear glass and the front screen is falling off. I think I can easily sort the front screen issue but I wondered about the rear glass. The other phone has intact rear glass and I wondered if I could use it as a donor phone or if the glass will always end up broken in the removal process.

While you cannot swap the back glass you can swap out the rear housing between them. You can follow the iPhone 8 Plus Lightning Connector Assembly Replacement to get there.
