Right fan won't turn off after replacing USB C portd

Hello everyone, I just recently replaced all my USB C ports on my macbook. After puting everything backtogether and turning the computer on. I noticed that my right fan was constantly blasting full blast. I've tried resetting SMC and PRAM but I'm still getting the same problem. I also ran diagnostics and got an error code saying it was a problem with my fan. Could I have accidentally damaged somthing on my logic board? Or is this just a simple fan replacement? Thanks for your help!

If you have a multimeter, check for voltages on the fan connector to see you getting voltage. Best case scenario you just replace the fan itself and works again. Worse case scenario, you might moved the resistor or capacitor during the usbc replacement. Do a visual inspection on the board

If it's running at 8000 rpm constantly it has to be getting power right? And what setting should I set my multimeter for?

I forgot to mention in my original post that I've tried using Mac fan controller to slow it down but it won't change the speed. The left fan will change just fine with the program

It looks like some of the pins are not communicating to the board and just receiving only power at full speed. Usual fans are 4 pins. But something is disconnected around board like a resistor preventing to communicate to the fan thus preventing you to control the speed

@brettorenstein you sure it's your fan or is it possible that you are having other difficulties? The fan connection gets its signal through the keyboard connector. Check that cable, make sure the connector is not damaged and that the cable is properly seated.

Why did you replace the USB-C ports? What happened to the board. Let us know what error code you did get.
