CD door clip switch will not remain in contact

Hi, The CD drive door on my model 1 Saturn has a 'tower' type door switch. The plastic tray lid presses a micro-switch against a contact plate when the lid is in the closed position. This is no longer happening. I have tried taping the micro swith and contact plate together, this works for a little while until the microswitch eventually moves off the contact plate and the door reads as open again, particularly annoying when you are in the middle of a playing session. Any methods for the best way to repair this? Can the switch be bypassed altogether? thank
