I dropped my phone and have a crack in the camera lens that is also visible when taking pictures. The camera seems to function fine but the lens itself is cracked. I’ve seen the $8 replacement lens part here but no instructions for how to replace just the lenses, only the module. Novice here. What am I missing?

The link below seems to do a solid job of showing the repair, but as I personally have done little mobile part replacement myself, I'm unsure if his use of the metal razerblade was best practice or a careful heating of the glass and a blunt metal or sturdy plastic spudger would be the correct choice.
