I trying to follow the repair guide for fixing the switch controller but I'm running into trouble where you need to detach the battery cable. Is it supposed to be this difficult getting it off? I don't want to damage the board underneath it but %#*@ it aint coming out.

It's a strange connector I grant you. It lifts straight up, rather than unplugs like you would on a PC main board. I put a spudger underneath the cables just to pry it up a little.
