goldenyears, the password in this laptop can not be reset by removing the RTC battery or shorting any jumper. However, there is a way, but it does require some decent skills:-) and it will help you to recover the password. Check on here to get to the password in the ATMEL 24RF08. Here is more information about this as well as the recovery of a Windows password. Looks like a great project ;) Hope this helps, good luck.

Try hirens boot cd I think there's bios password recovery tools in it

Removing batteries or any boot Cd's will not clear the bios password . You will need to join the pins of chip on the motherboard at boot time. Check the detailed instruction and a full length video on youtube for doing this on this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW-RLkzj...
