usb boot hard reset to clean install osX?

HI

I've got an MacBook Pro who's been refusing to hear my keyboard commands, and I suspect that I´ve caught a chipset virus long before because;

  • When I was surfing I downloaded program image to the MacBook, after that I was trying to reset password.
  • Now the MacBook do not let me in on my set of passwords so it has to either be the WiFi net that has reset or there's an old time capsule there I´ve reworked...
  • I now need myMacBook Pro for work, Swedish government a tool for longer services so the usage will be high...
  • I was thinking of motherboard USB connecting the MacBook to reach out to chipset functionality some way get a clean and fully data resetted MacBook?
  • PLEASE is there anyone who know how to get this to work? I´m totally new to Mac usage...

First I doubt you got a chipset virus! While there was some research into creating them they just didn’t work in the real world. More so within OS-X or MacOS as Apples firmware is very different to Windows systems and even now is not a large enough population of systems for someone to bother with.

So let’s focus n the more likely issues here… given the systems age I’m thinking the battery has swollen up pressing from below. But before we get into that, let’s see if we can get into the system using an external USB keyboard and mouse, plug them in and see if they work (ideally an Apple keyboard and mouse) see if you can borrow one from some one for a few days.

If that works that proves the issue is likely the battery.
