Why Does My PS5 Lag When Connected To Good Internet?
I've noticed that my PS5 has recently (within the last few weeks) started to lag more often and in a more detrimental way than when I originally got it. At first I attributed it to the internet connection and performed all regular troubleshooting for improving internet performance, including directly connecting the system to the router. I've tested the internet speeds and quality many times and it always comes up operating normally. No matter what I try (including keeping ample available internal storage and restarting the system) I'm continuing to deal with severe lag, making it impossible to play online games. Other devices connected to the same internet experience no issues, including older gaming systems only connected via wifi. I tried googling the issue and was basically given no help outside of "restart the device", "update the software", and "keep enough storage available". Is there some sort of hardware issue that could be causing this? I've never opened the system up before.

Just for a frame of reference, are you connecting your PS5 through a WiFi connection or are you using an Ethernet connection?

Initially wifi, but tested with ethernet as well. Same situation.

Define "lag", just saying lag isn't going to work, say lag from where to where on which hop.

Disconnects, packet loss, timing out, etc. You know. Lag. I'm not a IT pro, I'm a casual gamer.

@kozmeowski one game or every game?
