Magsafe 2 orange light, new battery not charging (dead)

Computer was totally dead, magsafe always orange. The macbook prior to being completely dead had only worked when plugged in. I originally replaced the battery, because I thought that was the issue. The computer powered on after, but I didn't run any diagnostics because I foolishly assumed I had fixed the problem.

I let the computer die to cycle the battery and discovered that it wouldn't recharge (it did briefly turn back on but was on one percent, powered off and hasn't turned on since). I then replaced the DC-in board, still orange light, no charging. I took out the logic board and saw some corrosion on CD3211A1, which I cleaned. Same issue, computer not charging.

The magsafe is orange when the battery is disconnected. I have tried other chargers with no luck.

Any other diagnostics I can do with a completely dead battery?

Disconnect the battery, then with nothing connected press and hold the power button for a good 15secs. Now plug in the MagSafe, the system should spontaneously start. Let it fully boot up and do a proper shutdown. If you haven’t installed CoconutBattery do that before you shutdown as the next step needs it.

Now plug in the battery and reconnect the MagSafe, now restart the system hopefully it starts, now run CoconutBattery and take a snapshot of the apps main window with the battery tab open and paste it here so we can see it.

Hi Dan - thanks. It's not booting, do you think that means it's an issue with the charger?

I tried with a different charger. Still no luck.

@msthnmrf - Time to visit a Mac repair shop as the logic boards charging logic needs repairs.
