After Battery replacement - does not boot after shut down w/o power
I have replaced my yoga 920 battery as per instruction here. Battery works fine and is completely charged. However when I turn off (shut down) the notebook in the evening and want to restart it in the morning, I need to plug in my power cable. Once restarted I can unplug and work with the battery for hours. What could be wrong here? Any recommendations? By the way I have noticed that if that symptom is observed, the clock time is wrong (few hours back) until the laptop is synchronized with the time server in the morning. Does that ring a bell? I hope it helps.

Finally, it turned out that there seems to be an issue with the battery delivered to me. I have now purchased a battery from a different provider and with that one everything works well. I have informed iFixit about the problem. Whether its a general issue, an issue with a specific lot of batteries, or an issue with the combination of my Yoga 920 and this battery from this provider remains unknown.

I’m having this same issue with the ifixit replacement battery that I purchased for my Lenovo 920, and it sounds like others are too. It sounds like it’s a problem with ifixit’s battery…
