I put new ink in my dell E525w printer and it still says need ink

The print heads are likely clogged. You can try cleaning them with the utility that is in the memory usually on the display panel, but honestly, if they are clogged, the utility will likely not work at this point. If you can locate the print head, you can try to clean it with a cotton swab and alcohol. In my 40 years in the industry, I think I have seen only a handful of these printers come back from clogged print heads. You will likely have to replace the machine, as the print heads (if you can even find them) will cost you what a new system would.
