Icon that shows charging is disappearing and appearing when plugged in

My Samsung a70 fell from about 20cm from a chair, the screen would not respond but when plugged in it would show the charging icon for 2 seconds, then vanish, then repeat. It will not do this unless plugged in. I have looked at several videos none to which fix it. Is it possible to fix it without replacing the battery or will I need to purchase one?
