Replacement for speaker gasket

Hey all!

I am trying to do a charging port replacement on an iPhone XR. I followed the iFixit guide to remove the logic board, and watched a couple videos for the final steps to get the lightning connector flex removed. I have managed to get the flex out successfully.

The problem is in both videos when they removed the speaker driver from the bottom right corner, it just came right out. Mine pulled the gasket apart, and I can't tell what is was originally supposed to look like. The microphones also kept a black film on them and left a white film, but the new part from iFixit just has film protecting a sticker (can only see aluminum). I can't seem to find anywhere that shows a good photo of what the gasket was supposed to look like (water sealing across face? Just sealing edges?), or where I could order a replacement.

Anyone have tips?

Your experience pretty much matches any time I've removed the speaker from this era of iPhone. In fact Apple dictates replacement of this speaker in any repair where removing it is necessary so that a new gasket can be installed (comes preinstalled on the OEM part). But the gasket just surrounds the port to seal, so water does not get into the interior of the phone. I haven't seen much in the way of replacements for this part aside from aliexpress or ebay. It may be possible the one for the XS fits? It also looks like this from injured gadgets may also fit the bill, it's hard to tell from the photos. it may include more than you need. But more is better than less?

Thank you. I ordered a replacement gasket on eBay, arrived from Germany yesterday. Good to know it only seals the speaker to the outside, not liquid getting into the speaker.

I still need to figure out those little microphone attachments. There are white film still on the case, black sticker on the old microphones, and only metal with protective tabs to be removed on the new microphones.
