The transmitter no longer powers on.

It's possible it's related to a power outage, since we had one the day it stopped working, but the transmitter will not power up for anything. I normally let it receive power by the USB port alone, but even trying with the (optional) DC for power it will not ever show anything on the display. Is there anything that can be done?
