it overheats when left alone and skype on
could it be the airport heating up by the way where is the airport module located

Hi! What signs are you seeing that indicate to you the laptop is overheating? Is the fan on high? Is the laptop shutting off? Or is it working, but just really hot? Please let us know some details.

according to the comments in the 13" MBP teardown:
"...the AirPort/Bluetooth card is hidden below the black plastic clutch cover at the base of the display."
